A handcrafted glass artifact containing authentic sand gathered from Chicago's beaches.
For centuries, people have carried home stones, soil, shells, and other small reminders of meaningful places. Glass artist Linda Harman continues that tradition by preserving authentic materials within handcrafted borosilicate glass keepsakes, creating lasting connections to places that inspire, shape, and define us.

Handcrafted borosilicate glass swizzle sticks made with authentic sand collected from Chicago beaches.
Each piece is individually made by hand and permanently preserves a small piece of the city's shoreline.
In daylight it reads as a simple, beautifully made glass stir stick. Put it under UV and the glass comes alive in the drink.
A UV keychain light comes with every piece, so the effect travels with it to the bar, the patio, or the kitchen counter.

The same piece, lit with the included UV keychain light.
Every stir stick is shaped one at a time at the torch in Illinois, with sand gathered from the Chicago shoreline worked permanently into the glass. Small variations in the glass, the sand, and the form are part of how each one is made.
These are made to sit on a bar. If you run a restaurant, hotel, rooftop, or shop along the lake and want to carry Chicago Shoreline Artifacts, get in touch and we will talk through quantities and timing.
Tell us how many you would like and we will confirm availability, total, and shipping. Each one is made by hand, so batches are limited.
